I love quotes. I love words. Words can change my whole day. Or rather my whole attitude about my day and attitude is what matters. Here are a couple of quotes about winter that I find very uplifting.
"In the midst of winter I found, there was in me, an invincible summer" Albert Camus.
What a powerful statement of the possible triumph in the human spirit! When all is dark, cold and gloomy you can find a strength you never knew existed to bloom and be beautiful. I believe this is part of how we are "fearfully and wonderfully made........." Sometimes the strength we pray to God for He has already answered in how He built us. Not that this takes any glory away from Him. When we overcome the "winter" of our souls with the "summer" He has created us with I say, "Thank you God for giving me the tools I need!"
"Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
In troubled times how comforting to remember that today's difficult circumstances are not tomorrows. My Grandma Birdie always used to say "And this too shall pass..........." Which is a quote from a Jewish proverb about King Solomon. Also, to add more comfort to Grandma's quote, Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:35.
Our nation and our world are in very troubled times. I will be praying for us all today. Praying for God's Kingdom come and His will be done. With all the sorrow and pain in the world, I don't know what else to pray however, I am filled with comfort that He is in control.
